Gambier booch black is the best quality type of gambier, made from selected gambier leaf extract, with a minimum catechin content of 45%, maximum ash content of 17%, maximum moisture of 17%.

Gambier is made from the hot water extract of the leaves and branches of the gambier plant which are precipitated and it has high antioxidant functions. Another function is as a mixture of drugs, such as burns, headache medicine, diarrhea medicine, dysentery medicine, mouthwash, medicine for cancer sores, and medicine for skin ailments (rubbed on). Gambier is also used as a leather tanner and textile dyes. Functions that are also being developed are as an adhesive for plywood or particle board.
